IF YOU HAVE A FEAR OF DENTAL WORK
Do not feel alone, some studies show that up to 70% of people experience some level of dental-related fear and 20% do not visit a dentist because of it. If you are scared of a dentist, we want to assure you that making you feel comfortable and safe at our office comes first. Dental anxieties and phobias come in a wide variety of ways, and fears vary for everyone. Dental anxiety may be mild to moderate, and often takes the form of a general sense of worry and apprehension when thinking about an upcoming procedure, we will take care of this apprehension and make you feel comfortable so that your smile will be an asset.
FIRST VISIT
Your first appointment will usually consist of an examination and review of treatment options. Most of the time, a treatment can take place the same day as the consultation. However, in a complex case, medical history or a treatment plan might require an evaluation and a further appointment or a series of appointments to provide the necessary treatment. Approval from a medical aid might also be required.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- A list of current medication/s you are presently taking.
- If you have medical aid, bring your medical aid card and ID. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please inform the office of any medical condition that may be of concern, prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) and any medication you are currently taking (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
